Shumeïkan dojo - France
In the Var region, Shumeïkan dojo is located in the village of Bras, 10 kilometers away from Saint-Maximin and 15 kilometers away from Brignoles. It is located at the exit of the village, towards Brue-Auriac, Place des Allées, by the river.
Shumeïkan is the dojo that was built for Tamura senseï, who taught every week in this dojo for over 19 years, between 1992 and 2010. It was founded in 1991 under the leadership of the French Federation for Aïkido and Budo (FFAB) in order to allow Tamura senseï to have a school-dojo to freely develop his research and his teaching. It is managed by the National School of Aïkido since 1992. The National School of Aïkido transformed the century-old hotel ‘the Allées’ to build a dojo where every student could continue his or her research, following the spirit of the teaching of O-senseï.
